UTair India airlifted 30 tons of ration from Bharmour to Bara Bhangal, a snow bound valley in Distt Kangra, Himachl Pradesh between 27th and 30th August 2018.
According to sources, the foodgrain consignment is dispatched to the valley every year in May or June when the Thamsar Pass is opened to pedestrians and mules said sources. Due to heavy landslides and washing away of a footbridge near Plashak this year, mules carrying foodgrain were held up, resulting in its shortage.
UTair India pressed two of its AS350B3 helicopters into services at the instance of DC Kangra and airlifted the ration consignment to Bara Bhangal in no time.
The Company is actively engaged in relief and rescue missions of this nature where required.
